Product Description
Three professional cake designers combine their talents in the 15 cake decoration projects in this book, each of which has variations to reduce the time it takes to make it, and adaptations for creating different designs. For example, a windowbox cake can be adapted into a tropical aquarium cake.
Review
Although ready-made celebration cakes are readily available from the supermarkets these days, they do all tend to be much of a muchness. They also belie the ease with which they are made. This colourful book from David and Charles highlights the work of three celebrated cake designers - Stephen Benison, Lindy Smith and Linda Wilson-Barker - and teaches you how to make them yourself. Some admittedly require a degree of experience and confidence but many are far simpler than at first appears, needing only an artistic eye and a little patience. Footballers and motorcycles, frothy anniversary and engagement cakes, children's dreams come true, - pretty AND edible - all feature, clearly explained in step-by-step instructions accompanied by colour photographs to emphasise the steps. Basic cake mixtures and icings, techniques and equipment precede the actual designs ensuring a basic understanding before you start. So treat your loved ones to something really special with these delightful ideas and make that day even more memorable for all. - Lucy Watson
